Summer 2013 – Working with the Children in the Village of Hinche
Craft time – a huge treat for these children, many of whom did not even know what a marker was, or what it was for. It has always struck me as incredibly precious – and yet, at the same time, humbling and sobering – to see how excited the children will get over something as simple as a balloon. Thanks to donations to The Haiti Fund, we were able to provide each of the children a small meal – for many of them, quite likely the most they will eat all day.
