As most of you know, the Delmas 28 Church building was completely destroyed in the January 2010 earthquake, killing the director of the nursing school and the 36 nursing students who were meeting there for classes at the time.
The building has been in an ongoing state of reconstruction since that time, and today marked a very special day for our friends at Delmas: The dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the third-floor nursing facility, which was finally finished just in the last few days.
JT asked Tommy Carter, Jim Cain and I to speak at the ceremony, pray over the new facility and the large group of nursing students in attendance, and to cut the ribbon at the entryway of the new classroom wing.
Knowing the history, and knowing what this meant to all the girls at the nursing school, made it an incredibly, profoundly special experience to be able to share in with them
