Gabriel Louis (photo above) is another of our December 2017 graduates from the Preachers’ Training School. Gabriel serves as the minister for the Church of Christ at Carrefour Feuille, which lies way up the steep mountainside surrounding Port-au-Prince, and he also preaches at several other churches as far south as Jacmel.
(For those of you who’ve seen the “Go Make Disciples” video on the Home page of our website, most of the footage for that video was taken while Jason Ayers, JT, and I were walking up the steep, narrow streets to Carrefour Feuille in December of 2015.)
Gabriel started the Carrefour Feuille church in 1999, and since then it’s grown from 25 members to 267 members. Even though he already had a degree in engineering, Gabriel decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry “to help him be more effective in his preaching and evangelism.”
JT says that Gabriel is one of the hardest workers he’s ever seen, in spite of significant health challenges from diabetes – which, according to JT, has put Gabriel in the hospital a few times as a result of “pushing himself too hard”.
