Trip 25 – Funny Moments
The photo above is of the shower in my room at the newly built wing of the Labelle Marie hotel in St. Michel – do you see any potential problem with having an electrical outlet in the shower with you – an electrical outlet that’s not even sealed off, and has open wires behind it?
(And yes, it’s live – I plugged something in just to check – oh, the many things I love about Haiti.)
While we’re on the subject of funny moments…
On Friday Travis and I are riding around Port-au-Prince in the back of the truck with Emmanuel Mytil, standout preaching school grad and JT’s most trusted protégé. Emmanuel’s English is way better than it was even six months ago, and he tells us that he’s been working vey hard at picking up as much as he can. So Travis – in his ever-so-Travis kind of way, and in a very serious and sincere tone of voice – begins teaching Emmanuel the meaning of the very important English word “hangry”.
(I tell Travis The Haiti Fund will definitely not be hiring him as our ESL trainer.)
