As part of his final year-end report, JT says more than 2000 people came to our graduation ceremony for Delmas Christian University – pretty amazing!
Here’s the full report, covering both DCU (our “preachers’ training school”) and our Earthquake Relief efforts in southern Haiti:
“Preachers’ Training School: We were blessed after four years to finally graduate our students on December 5. The Karibe Convention Center was the theater of a great ceremony attended by a crowd of over 2000 Christians. In addition to the graduation itself a gospel message was preached, and people from all over the country are amazed with what God is doing in Haiti even in the midst of our struggles. 37 men received a bachelor degree in Bible or in Ministry, and one young lady – Sabine Dazin, a preacher’s daughter – also received a bachelor degree in Bible. Our gratitude to the faculty, staff and students for the success of this endeavor. We are praying for continued support to begin a third round of students in January.
“Earthquake Relief: The people affected by the earthquake in the southern peninsula are being blessed through your efforts. With the funds you’ve provided, families are able to joyfully receive new homes, where they can live peacefully without fear of being left to the elements.
“This is the Church of Christ at its best – there is joy and dancing at Camperain, where 9 homes have been built, as well as a brand new structure for the church and school there; and at Mangnan, Citron, and Rousseau, where an additional 9 homes have been built. Our contractor is now in Lazil to build 3 more homes, and a shelter for the church and kindergarten class there. We are also planning to build 3 homes in Chambellan and 3 in Jeremie in January of 2022.
“This concludes our report for 2021. I thank you for your prayers and support of me and my family. As you can see, when you stand side by with me in this ministry, God is doing great things. I wish you happy holidays and a happy new year 2022. – JT Elmera, Minister”
On a personal note, I just want to say thank you once again to all of you who’ve helped support the Delmas Christian University School of Theology these past 8 years, and all of you who’ve helped out with our disaster relief efforts. Thanks to you, The Haiti Fund was able to provide $16,000 in emergency funding for the earthquake relief efforts in the southern peninsula, all of which were carried out by the Christians at the Delmas 28 Church of Christ where JT is at.
