Last Sunday (Dec 5) was our graduation day for the Delmas Christian University School of Theology, the “preachers’ training school” we started in 2014 – altogether, a total of 42 men and 1 woman graduated with Baccalaureate degrees in Theology, Biblical Studies, and Practical Ministry.
A couple of noteworthy graduates, who many of you know: Jean Rony Pierre, son of Jean Martel Pierre (long time preacher in Hinche who was killed a few years ago) and Roberde Mompremier, son of Rolin Mompremier (preacher in St. Michel).
As you can see, there was a pretty awesome crowd on hand for the ceremony, which was held at the Karibe Convention Center in Port-au-Prince. I REALLY hated that we couldn’t attend in person this year, but JT did ask me to speak at the service by video, which I was very excited to be able to do (see video below!).
As most of you probably know, this was our second round of students; the first graduating class consisted of 36 students who graduated four years ago in December 2017. There’s been some conversation about continuing the program with a third round of students in January, but nothing definite’s been decided yet – will keep you posted! I’m actually supposed to talk to JT about that today or tomorrow.
My message to the grads:
