Current Needs and Priorities

For those of you who’ve continued helping out with the Preachers’ Training School and/or the St. Michel Orphanage, I just wanted to say a big “thank you” once again – for those of you who’ve not been helping out until now, I hope you’ll consider starting!

As we move into 2022, here are the needs and priorities that we’re currently aware of:

  1. JT is definitely starting a third round of students at the Preachers’ Training School this month.  The Haiti Fund will continue supporting those efforts at some level – the Board of Directors (me, Jim Cain, Louis Meilinger, and Johnny Israel) will be deciding on a specific amount, based on the funding commitments currently in place from our donors.
  1. For the last couple years we’ve been sending $440/month to help with the cost of feeding the children at the St. Michel Orphanage.  Rolin has asked me if there’s any way we could possibly increase that, and JT has confirmed that there’s a serious need for increased funding.  I told them I’ll see what we can do, but that any increase hinges on us being able to find more monthly orphanage sponsors (and, obviously, not losing any of the ones we already have!).
  1. A development I am SUPER excited about – we’re finally moving forward again on construction of housing for the St. Michel Orphanage!  The goal is to have all the children relocated to the new property by this September – JT is working up cost projections right now, and then I’ll be able to tell you where we’re at with our funding needs.

Many thanks again for everything you do for our brothers and sisters in Haiti, and may God bless each of you richly in 2022.
